We're live! Why only now?
I’ve always dreamed about having a proper blog. Of course; I do not just keep dreaming, I act! So I start and lots of questions pop up.
- Where do I begin?
- What platform should I use?
- Should I use WordPress?
- Or should I build my own?
Heck yeah! I’m programmer for Christ’s sake. Of course I’m going to build my own blog system; it’s definitely going to be so much better than the 1000 other ones that I can use RIGHT NOW.
Obviously, you know how that ends. You’ve been there yourself. Another project bites the dust in a trash bin full of half-cooked Frankenstein monsters. 100th private repository on my GitHub that will never ever see daylight. What’s different this time?
No longer perfectionist
Recently, I’ve watched a video by Tom Scott and he shared this amazing graph:
Instantly I thought about my writing own blog.
Is it easy? Yep.
Is it awesome? Hell yeah.
Then something clicked in my head: starting a blog is so easy and awesome, why can’t I just do it? Everyone and their grandma has a blog. But not me?
I realised: I am trying too hard. I just put too much effort into details that are not important. I try to make everything perfect; however, that means that I must jump through hoops just to start the fricking blog. Blog is all about the content. It is not about cool looking SSR Vue.js application (I hoped it was).
So what can I see here?
Knowing me, it’s probably going to be the last post. So nothing, I guess. However, if somehow this thing is still alive after a while, then mostly:
- Programming
- Cooking
- How cooking is like programming
- Terrible attempt at humour
If that’s your cup of tea, then stick around!
